Teacher of Psychology A Level
We are looking for a well-qualified, enthusiastic part time teacher of A Level Psychology for September 2026. FTE is in the range of 0.37 – 0.46.
Camden School for Girls is a highly successful and oversubscribed inner London comprehensive secondary school. Psychology is a popular A level option at Camden School for Girls. There are currently two classes in Year 12 and two in Year 13 and we follow the AQA syllabus.
Psychology is within and line-managed by the Science Department.
Job description
The following duties and responsibilities of all teaching members of the Psychology team are in addition to the standard scale job descriptions for all teachers at Camden School for Girls:
• Teaching AQA A level Psychology to students in Years 12 and 13
• Planning and preparing courses and lessons, including contributing to the work of the team by writing, reviewing and updating schemes of work
• Planning and preparing assessments and revision materials for particular modules or topics
• Taking responsibility for the resources for particular modules or topics
• Taking responsibility for students' health and safety in your lessons in line with school Health and Safety Policy
• Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of students in line with the school's assessment policy
• Working as part of a team
Our Criteria for selection will be evidence of:
• Good honours graduate with a qualification to teach Psychology at A Level
• Successful experience of teaching Psychology in a comprehensive School, which could include teaching practice
• Evidence of further study or training (not required for NQTs)
• An understanding of current curriculum issues in Psychology education
• The ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Sympathy with the aims and ethos of the school
• An understanding of, and a commitment to carrying out, equal opportunities policies
• A commitment to participate in extra-curricular activities
